Clackmannanshire: a Community Approach to Preventive Services
Earlier this year, Horizons was commissioned by the Scottish Government as an Evaluation Learning Partner to the Family Wellbeing Partnership (FWP) in Clackmannanshire.
The WFP which began in 2020, is helping to develop and support a resilient community ecosystem in Clackmannanshire by implementing a systemic shift towards preventative and relational public services, and ensuring that the agency and voice of Clackmannanshire residents direct the operations and designs of these services
Within the Partnership, various work streams focus on providing wrap-around childcare, early intervention to prevent crisis, employability and strengthening communities around schools.
This is an inspiring area to be working in, and we’ve been so impressed at the passion, motivation and profound commitment to collaboration that we’ve seen evidenced so far.
Aside from evidencing the good work and learning from the FWP’s way of working, our role is to help inform a wider understanding of how these projects can address child poverty.
This is a real privilege and we look forward to this project developing over the coming months.
